Tompkins County

Tuesday, February 6

The Planning, Development, and Environmental Quality committee of the Tompkins County Legislature meets at 5:15 p.m. in the legislative chambers at 121 E. Court St. The only agenda item are appointments to the Industrial Development Agency to be recommended to the full Legislature later that night.

Here’s the full list of proposed appointees to the IDA, which approves tax abatements, “payment in lieu of taxes” agreements, and other incentives to developers and businesses:

Martha Robertson – Member, Tompkins County Legislature
Leslyn McBean-Clairborne – Member, Tompkins County Legislature
Mike Sigler – Member, Tompkins County Legislature
Jennifer Tavares – TCAD representative
Grace Chiang – Member, At-Large (term expires 12/31/18)
Laura Lewis – Member, At-Large (term expires 12/31/19)

The full Tompkins County Legislature meets at 5:30 p.m. at 121 E. Court St. in the legislature chambers. The agenda includes: Approving appointments to the Tompkins County Council of Governments, the above appointments to the IDA, and reconciling the “Multi-Year Aging by Design” budget for the Office for the Aging.

Wednesday, February 7

The Public Safety committee meets at 3 p.m. in the legislative chamber. On the agenda is a discussion of the “Governor’s Traffic Safety committee,” a resolution to accept 2017 homeland security grant for the Sheriff’s Office, and accepting an award from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the Probation and Community Justice department.

Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency

The Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency [IDA] meets at 4 p.m. in the Legislative Chambers, 121 E. Court St. On the agenda is the final approval of tax benefits for the Delaware River Solar projects planned in Newfield, along with welcoming new members to the IDA.

City of Ithaca

Tuesday, February 6

The Cable Access Oversight committee meets at Pegasys, 519 W. Green St., at 5 p.m. On the agenda are reports from the studio coordinator and a resolution on usage fees.

The Board of Zoning Appeals meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 108 E. Green St. On the agenda are requests for variances: the owners of 106 E. Court St. want a waiver of the requirement to provide parking; the new two-family units at 607 S. Aurora St. are requesting placement of a dumpster; and the owners of 920 N. Tioga St. want to make a small addition to their home.

Wednesday, February 7

Common Council’s monthly meeting is at 6 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall, 108 E. Green St. On the agenda is presentation of the J. Diann Sams award; resolutions to amend the personnel roster for Departments of Public Works and the Water and Sewer departments; and votes on the downtown design guidelines. You can find these guidelines here. Votes taken Wednesday will determine Lead Agency, or who’s currently in charge of keeping them moving towards approval, which will be Common Council. Also up for a vote is the determination of environmental significance. The same series of votes will take place for the Collegetown design guidelines. There are also amendments to city code that relate to Common Council members. Also on the agenda is making a law to “improve and strengthen the Sustainable Energy Loan program.” There’s also a member-filed resolution by Alderperson George McGonigal to request that Charter put WENY back on basic cable in Ithaca.

The Caroline Town Board meets at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 2670 Slaterville Road. The agenda includes fill remainder of Gary Reinbolt’s 2018 term

Town of Danby

No meetings scheduled.

Town of Dryden

Tuesday, February 6

Check with the Dryden Town office at 607-844-8888 to see if there is a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting at 7 p.m. – they are only held if variances are up for question. None is listed on the website. Documents for zoning meetings are here.

Thursday, February 8

The Dryden Town Board’s monthly agenda and abstract meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 93 E. Main St. Documents, when available, will be located here.

Town of Enfield

Wednesday, February 7

The Enfield Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the Enfield Community Building, 182 Enfield Main Road. No agenda listed yet.

Town of Groton

Tuesday, February 6

The Groton Town Board meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 103 Conger Boulevard. No agenda posted yet.

Town of Ithaca

No meetings scheduled.

Town of Lansing

Wednesday, February 7

The Town Board’s working meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Lansing Community Center, 25 Auburn Road. On the agenda is a comprehensive plan discussion, and reviewing the town’s procurement and cash management policies.

Town of Newfield

Thursday, February 8

The Newfield Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 166 Main St. On the agenda for new business is “Town Justice Bill Chernish,” along with an update on the solar project.

Town of Ulysses

Tuesday, February 6

The Ulysses Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 10 Elm St., Trumansburg, at 7 p.m., with a five-lot subdivision at Dubois and Glenwood Heights roads on the agenda, along with consideration of a site plan for the conversion of the former Ithaca Antiques Mall to a self-storage facility. A discussion of draft zoning is also on the agenda.

Thursday, February 8

The Town of Ulysses Steering committee for Zoning Updates meets at 10 Elm St., at 7 p.m. Here’s the agenda.

Village of Cayuga Heights

Monday, February 5

The Cayuga Heights Zoning Board meets at 7 p.m. at Marcham Hall, 836 Hanshaw Road. The one variance request is from the owner of 11 Spruce Lane to leave a 12-foot wall where it is.

Village of Dryden

No meetings scheduled.

Village of Freeville

Tuesday, February 6

A public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Village Hall, 5 Factory Street, to review the draft of the new village land use code with a new commercial zone designation.

Village of Groton

Tuesday, February 6

The village Planning Board is scheduled to meet at its first Tuesday of the month time at 7 p.m. No agenda posted yet.

Village of Lansing

Monday, February 5

The Lansing Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m. at 2405 N. Triphammer Road, with a discussion on “how to name parks” on the agenda.

Village of Trumansburg

Wednesday, February 7

A special meeting will be held at 6 p.m., at the Village office at 56 E. Main St., for working on the budget.

Dryden Central School District

No meetings scheduled.

Ithaca City School District

Tuesday, February 6
